We’re almost there. This weekend is Superbowl Sunday, known in the real estate world as the calm before the storm. That’s because after Superbowl Sunday, homebuyers start to tour homes in droves. And things traditionally heat up as the months progress.
Do you have an agent, yet?
As a buyer, you need representation. You need an agent to take you around to homes (even open houses), correspond with listing agents, submit your offers, and represent your interests. The best part is, for you a buyer’s agent services are FREE. He or she is compensated by the seller when you purchase a home, as part of the commission the seller agrees to with their listing agent. A good buyer’s agent can also recommend a few mortgage companies and real estate attorneys to you, as well as home inspectors once you are under contract for your new home.
I found our agent, Merry Lapine, invaluable when we purchased our home. She was wonderful and guided us through everything. And I appreciate working with a good buyer’s agent when one of my listings is under contract. Everyone is properly represented; it’s a win-win situation for all involved.
Happy home shopping!
