Ease-ments into Spring

What a play on words! There are specific legal explanations for property easements, and the various types. I’m not an attorney, but in simple terms an easement is the legal use of a portion of your property by another person. There’s also hostile use, when they do so without permission. Oh boy fun stuff! But important to know, especially if you have an easement on your property or an easement is included in your deed. Be sure to check with your attorney when you’re buying or selling, to be sure any easements are known and clear. A good friend of mine in Virginia is having some trouble with her neighbor building on an easement she needs to access her land. Bad neighbor. Don’t do that on your easement. Be a good neighbor :)

In other news, this spring market is super busy! I’ve been at the office a lot in the past few days, swamped the whole time. Folks are selling, buying, renting, leasing, and inquiring about their future plans. I love it. And the flowers are starting to peek through the grass and bloom. Not in the office, there’s no grass there, just a nice carpet. Grass wouldn’t have a chance, with all the running around we do there.

And remember, if you’re appealing your property taxes, April 1 is the deadline. So get those papers in. Now this post has been all over the place, just like the recent weather. Next post’s topic? Not sure … any suggestions? Anything you would like to know about? I’m all ears!
